A Parametric Bootstrap Procedure to Perform Statistical Tests in a LCA of Anti-Social Behaviour

چکیده
In this paper we focus on latent class analysis of a large data set. The data deal with antisocial behaviour which is measured by 24 dichotomous variables. Latent class analysis of such huge data sets is unusual. One of the reasons is that latent class analysis defines models for contingency tables, so, if there is a set of k dichotomous items, then a table of 2 cells is modeled. It will be clear that, in general, the cells of the contingency table will be reasonably filled only for small k. Therefore, for large k we cannot rely on asymptotic results, meaning that the usual testing procedures cannot be applied. Furthermore, since the better known computer programs MLLSA (Clogg, 1977) and LCAG (Hagenaars and Luijkx, 1990) require the 2 k frequencies as input, usage of these computer programs for such examples leads to the tedious creation of the correct input file and computer storage problems.

On the Second Order Behaviour of the Bootstrap of L_1 Regression Estimators
We consider the second-order asymptotic properties of the bootstrap of L_1 regression estimators by looking at the difference between the L_1 estimator and its first-order approximation, where the latter is the minimizer of a quadratic approximation to the L_1 objective function. It is shown that the bootstrap distribution of the normed difference does not converge (eit...
متن کاملParametric and non-parametric statistical analysis of DT-MRI data.
In this work parametric and non-parametric statistical methods are proposed to analyze Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DT-MRI) data. A Multivariate Normal Distribution is proposed as a parametric statistical model of diffusion tensor data when magnitude MR images contain no artifacts other than Johnson noise. We test this model using Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of DT-MRI experimen...
متن کاملEstimation in Simple Step-Stress Model for the Marshall-Olkin Generalized Exponential Distribution under Type-I Censoring
This paper considers the simple step-stress model from the Marshall-Olkin generalized exponential distribution when there is time constraint on the duration of the experiment. The maximum likelihood equations for estimating the parameters assuming a cumulative exposure model with lifetimes as the distributed Marshall Olkin generalized exponential are derived. The likelihood equations do not lea...
متن کاملEvaluation of Some Plasma Coagulation Factors in Women with Spontaneous Miscarriage
Background It has been reported that 15-20% of parous female have experienced at least one miscarriage, while 3% of them have experienced two miscarriages. The goal of this study was to evaluate the plasma level of coagulation factors in women with a history of spontaneous abortions. MaterialsAndMethods In this case-control study, 82 women with a history of two or more abortions referred to the...
متن کاملGoodness of Fit: an axiomatic approach
An axiomatic approach is used to develop a one-parameter family of measures of divergence between distributions. These measures can be used to perform goodness-of-fit tests with good statistical properties. Asymptotic theory shows that the test statistics have well-defined limiting distributions which are however analytically intractable. A parametric bootstrap procedure is proposed for impleme...
